David Rosenthal CFP®

Principal / Financial Advisor

David grew up in Jersey and after 25 years of cold weather, he moved out west for some sunshine and warmer weather. He still heads back east a couple times a year to see family and friends, but calls Scottsdale his home.

David has numerous passions and interests that include good wine & food, animals (especially Dogs), and staying active. He tries to incorporate travel into his passion for wine and has done numerous wine tastings trip. A few of the most memorable are “sip ‘n cycle” through Napa and another one through the small towns of Italy. While in Willamette Valley, Oregon he did a “sip ‘n saddle”, riding a horse through the grape vines from vineyard to vineyard.

After a 20 year hiatus, David has rekindled his interest in tennis and plays in leagues at the Village on Camelback (in 2015 he won the men’s 4.0 club championship serving underhand – he was about to have shoulder surgery and couldn’t serve overhand). You can also find him golfing a couple times a month, usually on Troon courses, but Eagle Mountain and The Dinosaur are two more favorites of his. David has played on a softball team for 13 years with his former colleagues, and occasionally goes on long hikes such as Havasupai Falls, the Seven Summit Challenge in Phoenix, and recently completed hiking “Rim to Rim” at the Grand Canyon in October 2015.

In David’s own words:

Originally from New Jersey, I began my career working for a company that worked almost exclusively with Corporate Executives from Fortune 500 companies. In addition to managing their investments, we advised them on their benefits package which included; Company Stock Options, RSUs, NQ Deferred Comp and other benefits. In 2000, I moved to Arizona to manage the local wealth management division of a national CPA firm where I gained invaluable experience working with business owners and their unique planning needs. Soon thereafter, I began my own firm, Wealth Management Solutions in Scottsdale, AZ.

David understands that a combination of a formal education and ongoing industry specific education is invaluable to his clients. He earned both his BS in Finance and MBA from Seton Hall University, is a Certified Financial Planner®, a member of NAPFA, and is a fee-only financial advisor. He finds many areas of personal finance fascinating and routinely attends, FPA meetings, PVEPG meetings, NAPFA study group, and reads numerous online financial publications.
